Consultant – Clinical Microbiologist

Dr Christine Peters is a Consultant Clinical Microbiologist with a specialist interest and experience in infection risks in the built environment. She graduated from Edinburgh University with MBCHB and BSC in Parasitology and Entomology. She completed FRCPath and DTM&H examinations and entered  the GMC specialist register for Microbiology and Virology in 2012. Following this she has had a decade of Consultant level experience in Microbiology including infection control across a number of facilities in  Oman, India, Ayrshire and Glasgow and has been involved in Scottish  HAI standards development , CF infection control guidelines and HAISCRIBE updates. She is currently collaborating  in the DoH funded AAirDS research into the use of HEPA filtration to reduce HAI and has been extensively  involved in raising awareness of the risks of infection from hospital environments.
