Hybrisan is a biotechnology business based in Port Talbot, South Wales. Hybrisan has established an expert reputation in antimicrobial products following participation in international research projects and industry contracts. Our team of specialists have developed a unique antimicrobial technology platform which offers an alternative to existing technologies. Our particular focus lies with infection issues in the healthcare sector and our ultimate purpose is to improve the quality of lives of all suffering individuals.
Hybrisan has developed an alcohol-free hand sanitiser, based around a complex polymeric biocide in an aqueous solution. When applied to hand and skin, it provides extensive and ongoing protection against bacteria and viruses. The ‘Hybrisan Hands’ product is a pH neutral, ready-to-use solution, which is non-toxic, non-irritating, non-hazardous, non-flammable, and environmentally friendly. It is 100% alcohol, chlorine, bleach and SLS free. The formulation has been optimised to use the absolute minimum requirement of active constituents to maintain its efficacy, high therapeutic index, and low carbon footprint.
How many organisations/clients currently utilise the service/solution across the UK?

Is there anything you would like to make delegates aware of ahead of the IPC & HFM Conference in Scotland?
Hybrisan are a relatively new and fresh company who pride themselves on the ability to diversify around incumbent challenges. Through our agile research and innovations team we have pivoted into the hand sanitiser market with a highly effective non-alcohol-based alternative that has been proven to compete with the best in the marketplace.
Please feel free to arrange a meeting slot with us in advance or request further information to be sent through before the day. Email email@example.com with any questions.
What do you feel are the key points delegates need to digest when considering a partnership with your organisation?
Research and development are key factors in our success. Our aim is to continuously break down barriers of science to provide superior technological solutions for infection control, preferred by Healthcare Professionals, ethical and affordable to all.
There is a real danger that business isolation from the wider community could be detrimental to growth and development. We at Hybrisan recognise this as a weakness and are therefore highly receptive to collaboration with likeminded organisations.
Do you want to add any other key points?
The business was built around the principles of infection control by understanding the mechanisms of bacterial/viral cross-contamination. Our platform technology has had rigorous independent testing and has been shown to disrupt recalcitrant biofilm. Biofilm has been well documented as a significant contributor to microbial re-infection. As a result, by targeting ‘biofilm establishment’, Hybrisan’s product range render pathogenic organisms vulnerable and significantly easier to annihilate.
We can offer a variety of services and products. Our site in South Wales has purpose-built laboratory facility, material analysis capability and medium sized production area to provide a variety of antimicrobial technology solutions
